| Going to the airport? Why not go First Class? | |
Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: Who uses a shuttle service to get to and from the airport? A: People use shuttle services to get to the airport for a variety of reasons. Frequently, users of our services are people without another way to get to the airport and a shuttle service is the quickest and least expensive way to get there. Other times people will use our services because they don't want to ask a friend or relative to drive them to or pick them up from the airport. This is especially true when the flight is scheduled to depart in the early morning or arrive late in the evening. Other people use our services simply because they enjoy the convenience and reliability of the courteous door-to-door service that we offer. Q: What does "shared shuttle" service mean? A: A shared shuttle service is a transportation service that groups passengers onto a shuttle van to go to or from the airport. Although this means that passengers may spend more time getting to their destination, operating this way is an economical way to get to or from the airport. Q: It cost me $110.00 by taxi to get from Bradley to UMass but you charge $35.00. What's the catch? A: The "catch" is that it may take you a bit longer to get to/from your destination than by taking a taxi or private car service. Again, the benefit of taking a shared shuttle service is that you save a lot of money. Q: How much longer should I expect it to take to get me to/from my destination? A: As most of our passengers head to/from Bradley let me use that location to describe what usually happens getting to/from there. In general, we start by planning your pick up time so that you will get to the airport an hour and a half before your flight's departure. The day before your trip we then review the next day's trips and group our passengers on shuttles as necessary. Obviously, our first priority in grouping is to make sure everyone arrives at the airport in plenty of time to get their flight. Sometimes this means that while one passenger arrives an hour before their departure another may arrive two hours before theirs. Departures from the airport work the same way. We work hard to minimize wait times at the airport but occasionally circumstances of flight changes/delays, etc. make it that we will not be at the airport when you call us. If that is the case, when you do call for your airport pick up you will be given a time with a 10 minute range as to when you will be picked up. Q: Which airports does First Class Shuttle serve? A:First Class Shuttle offers services to and from Bradley and Logan International Airports. Q: How do I get picked up at Bradley? A: Pick ups at Bradley are very simple. Give us a call at (413)733-4632 after you get your luggage (or after you de-plane if you don't have any) and we will instruct you on where to meet our van. We keep an eye on your flights and, in general, we will be there waiting for you when you arrive! Q: Why are you showing the current weather in Windsor Locks and Amherst on your Helpful Links page? A: Bradley International Airport is in Windsor Locks, Connecticut so you are seeing Windsor Locks's current weather conditions. We also added the weather in Amherst as representative of the weather in western Massachusetts since, even though they are only forty miles apart, the weather can be very different between the two places. Q: Why did an answering machine pick up when I called? A: Getting an answering machine can be disconcerting but be assured that messages are checked as soon as they are received. Our phone number gets forwarded to a cell phone that is always in an employee's possession. But if that phone is being used, temporarily out of range or on a driver with passsengers then we need to let the call go to voicemail. These voice mails are checked as soon as possible and return calls are made promptly. Q: How soon do I need to make my reservation? A: We are happy to accommodate passengers no matter when they make their reservations but the reality of the shared shuttle business is that if you make a reservation with less than 24 hour's notice we may not be able to do that.
